I was in the bottle lookin’ out again
Thinkin’ this must be the way it ends
Cause the booze wasn’t workin’ anymore
And the pain was still knockin’ at my door

Some friends had to come plead with me
Just go away and let me be
I know you love me but it’s time to let me go
Cause this is just a one man show

[CHORUS]
I was on my knees when her prayer came through
My mother’s voice so loud and true
She was calling out to her only son,
So out of reach from everyone
She said the greatest gift that a child can give
Is that their parents they outlive

Thought I could do it on my own
And face those demons all alone
But in that wrong and desperate place
I finally hit me knees and prayed for grace

[CHORUS]
I was on my knees when her prayer came through
My mother’s voice so loud and true
She was calling out to her only son,
So out of reach from everyone
She said the greatest gift that a child can give
Is that their parents they outlive

[BRIDGE]
It all comes down to one basic desire
Deep down in every man women and child
You’ll never fix what is broken with the man behind the facade
Surrender to win and stop playin’ God

[CHORUS]
I was on my knees when her prayer came through
My mother’s voice so loud and true
She was calling out to her only son,
So out of reach from everyone
She said the greatest gift that a child can give
Is that their parents they outlive

I’m on my knees lookin’ up again
I surrender my will to him
I finally found what I was lookin’ for

@Gypsy Jane,
Well, you can’t purchase a copy… I’ve never had anyone ask really. You should be able to download a copy on my Reverb Nation page. I have some other songs I recorded myself on youtube.

talk about a small world. i followed your link at inward bloom and our challenge and listened to your song, which is very good, then read your blog about your day three years ago, then to click the comments and find Jane’s request for what I was going to ask just let’s me know we are all connected. She is an friend from high school days that we only get to connect with over the blogs these day. Amazing and still sober is a wonderful thing. Will check out the links above for more of your music too! Lady J aka Jacki m
